Michigan's Contact Lens Specialists
Patient Video Reviews
Scleral lens patients describing their fitting in their own words.
Videos from our scleral lens patients
Reading that a lens changed someone’s vision is one thing. Hearing them say it is another — particularly if you have been told for years that nothing more could be done.
These are our own patients, filmed at the practice.
Why we put these on the site
Specialty lens fitting is difficult to describe and easy to be sceptical about. Most people arriving here have already been through several practices, several pairs of glasses and at least one “there’s nothing more we can do.”
So rather than describe what patients say, we would rather you heard it from them.
About Dr. Kresch
Dr. Shira Kresch, OD, MS, FAAO fits scleral, hybrid, rigid gas permeable and prosthetic lenses at Michigan Contact Lens in Southfield, and specialty fitting is the whole of her practice rather than a sideline within it. She trained at Columbia University and the Kresge Eye Institute, and the practice holds a 5.0 average across 162 Google reviews.
What to expect at your own consultation
If the videos above are the reason you are here, the practical part is on what happens at your first visit and the scleral lens fitting process.
Briefly: your initial specialty consultation is complimentary and needs no referral. We map your corneas, try diagnostic lenses where appropriate, and tell you honestly what your vision could be — including if the answer is that a specialty lens is not the right tool for your eyes.
Michigan Contact Lens is at 17000 W. 10 Mile Rd., Suite 150, Southfield, MI 48075, serving Birmingham, Royal Oak, Troy, Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield, Novi, Oak Park, Huntington Woods, Rochester Hills and Detroit.
